Jenn's Uncommon Critters is looking for individuals interested in joining the Board of Directors!
If you are passionate about animals, especially the more uncommon ones, are highly motivated and willing to help critters in need get the love and care they deserve, we'd love to talk to you! We are looking for people who believe in our mission to provide a safe place for animals in need and an educational experience for children and adults with reptiles, invertebrates, and small mammals.
About:
Board terms are two-years and align with the calendar year (January 1-December 31).
Members may serve a maximum of two consecutive terms.
Board Members are approved and begin their term at the Annual Meeting.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year.
Interviews and recruitment take place in the fall.
Committees are voluntary but highly encouraged and include Executive, Financial, Marketing, Foster, Volunteer, Rescue, and Board Development.
Applicants need not reside or work in Frederick, MD
Commitment:
Minimum of two years.
Attendance and participation at quarterly and annual board meetings. (5 total meetings per year usually 7-9pm on Mondays)
Committees are voluntary but members are highly encouraged to be part of at least one committee.
Participation hours as required for events.
Development of and participation in fundraising opportunities.
Average monthly time commitment is 2-5 hours.
Support and share Jenn's Uncommon Critters Events.
Leverage connections to expand Jenn's Uncommon Critters network.
The Process
Jenn's Uncommon Critters accepts applications year-round. To be considered for a board position, please complete the applicant interest form below.
Once your interest form has been submitted, it will be reviewed by the Board Development committee, and we will contact selected candidates for interviews. Candidates will meet with members of the Board Development committee and, if there is mutual interest, be invited to attend a future board meeting. Applicants selected to be added to the slate of candidates for election will be approved by the Board of Directors.
