"This is Angus formerly known as Geo! I rehomed him from JUC in May of 2023. I previously had a bearded dragon who came to me with a serious illness. After many trips to the vet, it was determined that he had cancer. After that painful experience, I waited a fair amount of time before I decided to add another bearded dragon to my family. This is how I came to know Jenn and Brian! Not only did I bring Angus home to live with me, I started volunteering with JUC. Angus has been a delight for me. While he doesn’t love to be held, I do bring him out for short periods of socialization. His absolute favorite foods are turnip greens and dubia roaches. He also has the cutest sleeping positions. He is doing fabulously!"
"Hi everyone !
This is from Ernie and family!
We have decided to keep the name Ernie but add a little bit of spice to it- we now call him Big Boss Bernie! He totally runs the show.
We recently had to move homes which has been a little crazy on us humans , but Mr. Bernie adapted very well. We found a place for his enclosure right by the living room so everyone can give him the attention he deserves ! His favorite actives are sitting by the window , going to our local pet store on sunny days , and getting stuck in everyone's hair lol. "Santa" found him a mini couch for christmas and now he enjoys lounging out every once in a while. He eats his daily veggies like a champion , and LOVES when I treat him to a big juicy horn worm.
We thank you again for letting Ernie into our lives. He fits right in with our family .
We hope you get lots more adoptions with the new year !!!
Thanks for everything you do!

"Hi!
Gove has settled in nicely. Officially we started to call him Rango though still not stuck on any one name.
He seems to like the variety of things to do and explore in his enclosure. He has not tried to dig yet which is surprising, but likes to climb and seems to sleep in a new spot every night which is funny.
He has been mildly content to just watch everything. Between the kids playing video games next to him and the dogs being crazy in front of him, that provides a lot of entertainment. Though sometimes I do feel like he is sitting in judgment of our shenanigans. He typically wants to come out to explore a few times a day, though some days he seems content and not interested in leaving his basking spot. We find his level of contentment seems to correlate to when he has last been fed.
We did get him a hammock which he slept on once but hasn’t quite gotten the hang of. He has been doing great with his veggies. We tried butternut squash for the first time today and not sure if he had to before but he seemed skeptical and looked a bit betrayed after taking a bite.
All in all he is doing great."
"Hello!!!
Thanks to Jenn’s Uncommon Critters, I was connected to my Bearded Dragon, Sunny. I’m so grateful for all of the information I was given upon adoption and the time Jenn and Brian spent educating me on up-to-date husbandry before sending me home with my new pal. They were both patient, allowed me to ask questions, and made me feel confident about taking a new pet home. I am so happy I chose to adopt from Jenn’s Uncommon Critters!
I adopted Sunny in July of 2024, her name truly fits her as she is a sunshine girl - happiness in the shape of a lizard. Upon adoption, I learned that sunny loves to socialize; she will stay awake long hours to ensure she gets a cuddle before she goes to sleep. She loves to be outside and is currently awaiting the warmer days.
When I adopted Sunny, she was a big girl, lovingly known as ‘buttermilk pancake’ - while she’s still on the larger side and her nickname still suits her - she can now walk with ease, she enjoys hunting for her food, and eats more ‘hamburgers’ (dubias) than ‘French fries’ (worms).
I’m excited to go on more adventures with Sunny in the future. I am so grateful for Jenn’s Uncommon Critters!"
"Hi! Thank you so much for reaching out! Waffles (know affectionately known as Mochi) is doing great. He gets lots of love and attention and I enjoy him as my laundry buddy while I fold clothes. lol. He is ready for Christmas (the hat is not actually attached). He’s quite photogenic.
Thank you again for touching base. Hope all is well on your end and we wish you a very happy holiday and new year!"

"The girls are doing amazing! I kept Onyx’s name but I now call Pinoe, Athena. The girls have been very good and very happy. They love to run around in their cage and play with each other and when I take them out to play with me they are very interested in everything and will run around and explore. They have become more vocal too and as always get super excited for dinner time. They know when it’s time to eat because they start squeaking and you can hear them all the way into the kitchen. I will attach some photos of them that you are welcome to post and share their story."
"Everything was fantastic! They are settling in nicely and we’re starting to get to see elements of their individual personalities. Dunkin’ is a little bit more reclusive and not a social as donut, but they both are so sweet and loving. We are so happy they are a part of our home!"
"They're doing great! I've got them to start coming out to see me for mealtime and they have great appetites. Still a little shy compared to my other.
Bella is more photogenic while Leo prefers to stay in his little cave so I don't want to disturb him too much."
